Health & Safety at Platinum
Platinum Civil Engineering takes H&S very seriously and regards the successful promotion of health and safety as a mutual objective for all engaged by the company.
Platinum Civil Engineering Ltd and our employees recognise the legal obligations placed on them by the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and of any other statutory provisions and health and safety regulations applying to our activities, such as:
- A H&S file for each site, complete with all the relevant H&S information for that project. Each section is read and signed by the site supervisor and all operatives before works commence and the operative's qualifications are enclosed.
- Provision of adequate resources (money and time) to discharge our duties under health and safety
- Ensuring the Safety of all employees, public and others
- Provision of adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities
- A safe and healthy working environment with adequate welfare facilities and arrangements on projects under our control
- Supply of relevant PPE, training and equipment for tasks to encourage safe working and ensure operatives are competent to do their tasks
- We take reasonable precaution and make arrangements for any accidents or near misses that happen on site
- Provision and maintenance of plant and systems of work that are safe and without risks to health
- Weekly tool box talks catered to the works being carried out that week
- Documentation is completed and submitted on the Platinum app before commencing works such as excavations, lifting operations and concrete pours.
Courtley H&S
Providing us with consultancy, inspections and training, Courtley Health & Safety specialists assist us with all our H&S needs.
In coherence with our company policies, procedures and operations, Courtley perform regular Health, Safety & Environmental site inspections to reinforce correct practice, assessing:
- Welfare facilities kept in good condition
- First aid kits provided and first aider present on site
- Correct PPE worn by all operatives and readily available
- RAMS are all up to date and relevant to current and future works
- Registers are correctly filled in
- Signage and notices are clearly visible around the perimeter and throughout the site effectively communicating relevant safety information and deterring unauthorised access
- Ensuring the site is as secure as possible and is covered by 24hr CCTV, Delivery access gate remains closed when not in use.
- Environmental issues identified & precautions taken
- Fire precautions & evacuation arrangements
- Correct procedure for lifting operations and excavations
