Soft Landscaping

As part of our groundworks packages we offer a variety of soft landscaping solutions.

Soft landscaping refers to manipulation of organic materials like trees, shrubbery, turf, soil and sand to enhance the visual appearance and improve the ground conditions.

Hard Landscaping

In conjunction with soft landscaping, hard landscaping concerns man-made, structural elements of landscaping such as stone, concrete, wood, metal and gravel.

These materials are used to construct:

- Paving & Patios

- Pathways & Walkways

- Walls

- Fencing & Gates

- Decking

- Driveways

- Water Features

- Landscaping Structures such as pergolas, gazebos, arbors and trellises

- Kerbs & Edgings

Our multiskilled workforce have years of experience to assemble and construct these features and structures to a high standard, complying with regulations and have an aesthetic appearance to enhance outdoor spaces

Shallow Excavation, Ground Stabilisation & Preparation

We have skilled 360 excavator operators and groundworkers on hand to implement a variety of landscaping techniques to prepare the ground ready for the next phase of the project. Ground manipulation can be critical to both the appearance and the stability of the ground.

For landscaping, shallow excavations can be used to achieve desired levels, remove layers of unwanted materials like turf or shrubbery and create outside features such as ponds. Excavations are also used in all other aspects of groundworks to dig trenches, foundations, roads, paths etc.

Ground stabilisation and preparation is essential to managing the ground conditions before starting structural works on site. There are a variety of techniques that we use to ensure the ground is stable including:

- Compaction, using a plate compactor or roller to compact the ground and vibrations encourage loose grains to fill in the gaps.

- Soil Reinforcement, using geotextiles and geogrids to provide additional strength and encourage permeability.

- Chemical Stabilisation, such as lime, cement or polymers which mixed with soil improves the properties of the ground material to be stronger and offer erosion control.

- Grouting, injected into any voids in soil or rock to add additional support to the ground.

These processes are really important when forming stable bases for construction, reducing the chance of landslides on slopes and enhancing the overall ground quality.

Waste Disposal & Site Clearance

We provide waste disposal and site clearance services throughout our projects so any excavated material, shrubbery or broken out concrete can be correctly disposed of.

At the start of many of our projects we are asked to perform a site clearance, before commencing works, this includes:

- Removing unwanted vegetation

- Demolition of existing structures

- Clearing debris and waste

- Clearing the site of obstacles such as large rocks or boulder as well as relocating utilities that interfere with planned works

- Ground investigation reports, environmental specialist reports and soil testing to evaluate the land for habitats, protected plants, watercourses, ground condition and soil analysis to comply with regulations and aid an accurate plan of works.

Having a tidy, well-prepared site at the start of a project is important for the planning and preparation of the project.
